Objectives: The expected outcomes of the seminar are the following:
- The applicability of corporate and strategic management frames and concepts in public service have been explored.
- Classic and novel insights in strategic leadership have been assumed.
- Key lessons on the power of vision and self mastery in expert and service organizations have been learned.
- New practices for executing “Helsinki Strategy Program 2009-2012” have been invented.
- Best practices and success factors of Geneva’s – and Switzerland’s – public administration, culture and economy have been benchmarked.
- Multicultural networking and mutual learning has accumulated a personal energizing dose.
Prework reading: Timo Santalainen’s book ”Strategic Thinking” (Talentum 2008). Additional handouts and elaborative materials will be distributed during the seminar.
