Expected Results: Upon completing the workshop the participants will

  1. Be familiar with evolving motivations and approaches in strategic management and thinking within the context of (hyper)competitive multinational business arenas.
  2. Understand the logic of developing customer-centric and resource-based strategies as well as value-capturing business models.
  3. Be able to apply alternative modes and tools of “strategizing” in real business situations.
  4. Possess an insight on alternative roles of strategy consultants to SME’s searching for international growth.
  5. Become energized by innovative ideas to be successfully applied in real business cases.

6. Making Things Happen

Course Material and Prework: It is advisable that participants read chapters 1 through 4 of Timo Santalainen’s book Strategic Thinking (Talentum 2006). This book can be considered as a “handbook” supporting later strategy facilitation in practice.

Participants are also encouraged to think of practical challenges they have faced in their role as a strategy consultant for internationalizing Finnish companies.

Facilitator: Dr. Timo Santalainen, President, STRATNET (Geneva) and Adjunct Professor, Helsinki School of Economics will be responsible in facilitating, sparring and coaching during the workshop.
